Why is this important?

Smokeless tobacco includes snuff, dip, and chewing tobacco. Smokeless tobacco is associated with many health problems, including nicotine addiction, various cancers, diseases of the mouth, and may increase the risk for death from heart disease and stroke.Those who begin tobacco use young are more likely to have a long-term addiction to nicotine than people who begin tobacco use later in life, putting them at greater risk for smoking-related illness and death.
